I SHALL NAME THE DEAD Announced for PC in 2027

Developer Tiago Rech and publisher DANGEN Entertainment have officially announced I SHALL NAME THE DEAD, a haunting narrative horror adventure coming to PC via Steam in 2027. Written by the creator of TELEFORUM, I DID NOT BUY THIS TICKET, and DROWNED LAKE, the game follows a woman cursed with a mysterious force as she searches for the forgotten identities of the dead. Combining atmospheric storytelling, hand-drawn visuals, and magical realism, I SHALL NAME THE DEAD promises a unique horror experience without relying on jump scares.

I SHALL NAME THE DEAD Delivers a Haunting Mystery

In I SHALL NAME THE DEAD, players take control of Imaculada, a woman cursed by a mysterious entity known as the Worm. As the Worm slowly consumes her from within, it grants her the ability to communicate with the dead through her lifeless eye. Determined to restore dignity to forgotten souls, Imaculada travels to a lonely cemetery where countless unidentified bodies remain trapped in limbo. Throughout the journey, players uncover clues, discover forgotten names, and finally allow the dead to rest in peace. Every discovery brings Imaculada closer to her goal while the Worm grows stronger with each passing moment.

Atmospheric Gameplay Without Jump Scares

Rather than relying on sudden scares, I SHALL NAME THE DEAD focuses on psychological horror and emotional storytelling. Players explore the eerie Necropolis, interact with its mysterious residents, and examine beautifully crafted sepulchral art while searching for hidden clues. Furthermore, the Worm constantly influences conversations by corrupting dialogue choices. Players can burn matches to purify their words or allow the curse to spread, creating meaningful choices throughout the adventure. This unique mechanic adds tension while reinforcing the game’s haunting atmosphere.

Hand-Drawn Horror From an Acclaimed Indie Team

Tiago Rech teams up once again with artist Lirio Ninotchka, who serves as art director after previously working on I DID NOT BUY THIS TICKET. Their collaboration delivers striking hand-drawn visuals inspired by magical realism and surreal horror. As players investigate forgotten graves and uncover hidden stories, every location strengthens the game’s unsettling atmosphere. Although DANGEN Entertainment has not announced an exact release date, players can already wishlist I SHALL NAME THE DEAD on Steam to support the developers and follow future updates ahead of its 2027 launch.
