Intel Stock Offering Boost $20B Raised to Power AI Demand
Intel has increased its Intel stock offering to $20 billion. The company priced shares at $95 each. This move comes as AI demand grows rapidly across industries. Initially, Intel planned to raise $15 billion. However, strong investor interest pushed the company to increase the offering. As a result, Intel expects net proceeds of about $19.7 billion. The company confirmed the deal will close on August 12. It will use the funds for general corporate purposes. For example, Intel plans to invest in infrastructure and working capital.
AI Demand Drives Big Spending
The Intel stock offering highlights the strong demand for AI computing power. Many tech firms now invest heavily in AI infrastructure. Therefore, Intel aims to stay competitive in this fast growing space. Goldman Sachs estimates global AI spending could reach $765 billion this year. In addition, it may rise to $1.2 trillion by 2027. These numbers show how fast the industry is expanding. Amazon also increased its AI spending outlook. The company cited a growing memory shortage as a key challenge. As a result, demand for advanced chips continues to rise.
Strong Growth Supports Strategy
Intel recently reported its fastest revenue growth in nearly 15 years. This growth reflects strong customer demand for AI solutions. Therefore, the company raised its capital spending guidance to $20 billion. David Zinsner said most of the spending will go toward factory tools. He also warned of a “meaningful increase” in demand by 2027. Intel’s stock has surged due to AI growth. It has risen 175% in 2026 alone. Over the past year, the stock has increased fivefold. In addition, government support has strengthened investor confidence.
Future Outlook and Extra Option
The Intel stock offering includes a 30-day option for underwriters. They can purchase an extra $2.25 billion in shares. This option may further boost Intel’s funding if demand remains strong. Overall, Intel is positioning itself for long term growth. The company is investing heavily in AI and chip manufacturing. As a result, it aims to meet future demand and stay ahead in the tech race.
