The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will host its 25th Global Summit, the industry’s most influential annual gathering, in Rome from September 28 to 30. Organized in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of Tourism, ENIT S.p.A., the Municipality of Rome, and the Lazio Region, the summit will bring together global and Italian leaders to shape the future of Travel & Tourism.
Key Italian leaders will lead conversations with Manfredi Lefebvre, WTTC Chair-Elect and Executive Chairman of Abercrombie & Kent, Crystal Cruises, and AKTG. Among them are Andrea Grisdale (IC Bellagio), Massimo Caputi (Terme & Spa Italia), Paolo Barletta (Arsenale Spa), and Pierfrancesco Vago (MSC Cruises). Other distinguished speakers include Alessandra Necci (Estense Galleries), Elisabetta Fabri (Starhotels Group), Gabriele Burgio (Alpitour World), Luca Cordero di Montezemolo (Italo), and Nerio Alessandri (Technogym).
The summit will address pressing topics such as destination stewardship, sustainable aviation, and the role of artificial intelligence in tourism. Hosted at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, it aims to foster dialogue between the public and private sectors while highlighting Italy’s role as a global tourism powerhouse.
Italy’s Tourism Minister, Daniela Santanchè, emphasized that hosting the summit reflects Italy’s renewed centrality in global tourism, calling it a chance to showcase destinations and attract investment. ENIT CEO Ivana Jelinic highlighted the country’s unique blend of cultural, culinary, and natural attractions, reinforcing Italy’s global competitiveness.
According to the WTTC’s Economic Impact Research, Italy’s tourism industry is headed for a record year in 2025, with international visitor expenditure predicted to reach €60.4 billion. The industry will support 3.2 million jobs — 100,000 more than last year — and contribute €237.4 billion to the national economy.
