Rawalpindi on High Alert Ahead of TLP March to Islamabad on October 10
Rawalpindi police increased security across the city after Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) announced a march to Islamabad on October 10. Officers aim to keep peace and prevent unrest during the protest.
Police Issue Stern Warning
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani led a meeting with senior officers to review the law and order situation. He ordered strict action against anyone who blocks roads or disturbs public life.
The CPO warned protesters not to damage property or attack officers. We will act firmly against anyone who breaks the law,” he said. “No one can harm public or police property under any excuse.
Islamabad Tightens Entry Points
Officials placed shipping containers at the Faizabad Interchange, the site of earlier TLP sit-ins. Authorities plan to seal Islamabad’s entry and exit routes after Thursday evening. Only authorised people may use Margalla Road.
They may also suspend mobile services to maintain control. Police ordered hotel owners along
Murree Road to vacate rooms for security reasons. The administration wants to stop any chaos before it begins.
Police and city officials continue to coordinate security operations. They plan to protect residents, maintain order, and keep peace during the protest.
