Punjab Govt to Launch Rs. 330 Million Digital Profiling System for Security
The Punjab government is launching a new digital profiling system worth Rs. 330 million to improve public safety. This advanced platform will help law enforcement monitor criminals, track terrorists, and detect cyber threats more efficiently.
The project will roll out in two phases. The first phase will receive Rs. 204 million, while the second phase will get Rs. 130 million. Once completed, the system will provide real-time insights to help authorities act faster and more accurately.
How the System Works
The digital profiling system will connect with the Punjab Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center. It will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze huge amounts of data. The system can track suspicious activity, analyze behavior patterns, and provide instant alerts to security teams.
It will also integrate video analytics, open-source intelligence, and automated data archiving. This means agencies can identify threats early — from organized crime to online radicalization — before they cause harm.
What It Means for the Future
This initiative could reshape how Punjab handles public safety and digital crime. With faster coordination between departments, authorities can respond to threats more effectively. However, experts highlight the need for strict privacy controls and transparent data policies.
If managed responsibly, the system will make Pakistan’s security network smarter, safer, and more responsive. The government sees this as part of a long-term vision to modernize policing through technology and protect citizens from evolving threats.
