UAE Launches Golden Visa for Waqf Donors with 10-Year Residency

UAE Launches Golden Visa for Waqf Donors with 10-Year Residency

The UAE has launched a new Golden Visa category for individuals who donate to Islamic endowments, known as Waqf. This special initiative grants donors a 10-year residency in recognition of their contributions to social and religious causes.

UAE Introduces Golden Visa for Waqf Donors

The announcement took place during GITEX GLOBAL 2025, one of the world’s largest technology and innovation events. The program stems from a strategic agreement between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation.
Officials say the initiative highlights the UAE’s commitment to promoting community welfare and sustainable giving. In addition, it supports the country’s vision of becoming a global hub for philanthropy and innovation.

Expanding Benefits for Golden Visa Holders

The government also revealed new perks for existing Golden Visa holders. For example, residents will now receive enhanced consular support while traveling or living abroad. This step aims to strengthen the UAE’s reputation for caring for its global community of investors, professionals, and philanthropists.
The Golden Visa program already attracts skilled talent, entrepreneurs, and investors. However, this new Waqf category opens doors for charitable donors to contribute meaningfully while enjoying long-term stability in the UAE.
As a result, the country continues to merge social responsibility with its broader economic and innovation goals. Experts believe this approach reinforces the UAE’s image as a forward-thinking nation that rewards generosity and community engagement.
