Karachi Police Arrest ‘Masi Gang’ Leader with Interpol’s Help
Karachi police have arrested Imran, the leader of the notorious “Masi Gang,” with assistance from Interpol. Officials confirmed his arrest on Monday, marking a major breakthrough in the Karachi Masi Gang arrest case.
According to police, Imran, son of Abbas Ali, was detained in Saudi Arabia and later handed over to Pakistani authorities. He had traveled there using money stolen from victims and obtained a free visa.
Interpol’s Role and Transfer
Bin Qasim Investigation DSP Shahnawaz Memon said Karachi police had requested Interpol to issue a red warrant against Imran. This action led to his capture in Saudi Arabia.
After serving a nine-month sentence under Saudi law, authorities transferred Imran to Pakistani officials in Islamabad. The Bin Qasim Investigation Police then took him into custody for further questioning.
Gang’s Modus Operandi
Investigations revealed that Imran ran a gang of domestic workers who robbed homes in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. These women, often hired as maids, would steal gold and cash. Imran arranged transport and provided all resources for their crimes.
Two women, Darakhshan and another from Steel Town, were directly involved in several robberies, including one at political leader Saadia Javed’s home. Two other accomplices, Shahida and Gulab Zadi, were arrested earlier.
Police confirmed Imran is also wanted in Punjab, where several cases are pending. Authorities plan to present him before the Malir Court to seek remand for detailed investigation.
