Pakistan Cement Firm to Build Belarus Tractors in Balochistan

Thatta Cement Company Limited (THCCL) has announced a major step into Pakistan’s agricultural machinery market. Its subsidiary, Minsk Work Tractor & Assembling (Private) Limited, has signed an exclusive deal with OJSC Minsk Tractor Works of Belarus.
The agreement allows the subsidiary to assemble and produce Belarus tractors locally in Balochistan. THCCL shared the development in a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday.
Under this partnership, Minsk Tractor Works has granted exclusive rights to assemble the tractors within Balochistan. This collaboration marks a significant move toward localizing tractor production in Pakistan.

Boost for Industry

According to earlier reports, Pakistan plans to locally assemble 57–80 horsepower Belarus tractors. Officials believe this development will boost both agriculture and industrial production in the country.
The Belarus tractor, first built in 1950, is known for its durable and easy-to-maintain design. Over the decades, it has evolved to include modern features while remaining affordable and practical. These tractors are now exported to more than 100 countries.
Industry experts see potential for at least 2,800 units over the next five years. This shows strong demand for high-powered machinery that can improve crop yields and enhance farm mechanization.
THCCL said the new project will create jobs and promote technology transfer in Balochistan. In addition, it will support local industrial development by establishing a domestic tractor assembly plant.
The company added that this initiative is a strategic milestone for its subsidiary. It is also expected to strengthen Thatta Cement Group’s business portfolio, diversifying its operations beyond cement production.
Founded in 1980, Thatta Cement has long served Pakistan’s construction sector. Now, through this partnership, the company is expanding into agro-industrial manufacturing to support the nation’s economic growth.
