Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook Seizes $972 Million Worth of Narcotics in Arabian Sea

Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook achieved a major victory last week in the Arabian Sea. The vessel seized narcotics worth over $972 million during two operations under the Combined Maritime Force (CMF). The mission took place as part of Operation Al Masmak, which started on October 16. This remarkable success highlights the Pakistan Navy’s strong role in keeping regional waters safe.

Massive Drug Haul Under CMF Operation

The CMF confirmed that PNS Yarmook intercepted two dhow sailing boats within 48 hours. On October 18, the crew boarded the first dhow and seized over two tons of crystal meth worth about $822 million. Less than two days later, they boarded another dhow and found 350 kilograms of crystal meth valued at $140 million and 50 kilograms of cocaine worth $10 million.
As a result, the total street value of the seized narcotics reached more than $972 million. The ships had no nationality, and their origin remains unknown. The seized drugs were tested and safely destroyed on board.

Teamwork Strengthens Maritime Security

Royal Saudi Naval Forces Commodore Fahad Aljoiad, commander of Combined Task Force 150, praised the operation. He called it “one of the most successful narcotics seizures for CMF.” He emphasized that the mission’s success reflects the power of international teamwork.
U.S. Central Command also congratulated the CMF on X, recognizing the coalition’s 47 partner nations and its role in protecting global trade routes.
Commissioned in 2020, PNS Yarmook features advanced defense systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and unmanned aerial vehicle operations. In recent years, it has carried out rescue missions and anti-smuggling patrols, proving its value in regional security
