First E-Challan Issued in Karachi After New Traffic System Launch

Karachi has issued its first e-challan after launching a new digital traffic management system. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah personally inspected the process on Monday. The system aims to make Karachi’s roads safer and improve traffic discipline across the city.
The Karachi e-challan system uses advanced cameras and automatic number plate recognition technology. These cameras detect traffic violations in real-time and send electronic challans directly to the registered vehicle owners.

Murad Ali Shah Oversees the Process

During his visit, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reviewed the e-challan operation at the Karachi Command and Control Center. He observed how the cameras captured traffic violations and how the system generated challans instantly.
He praised the Sindh Police and traffic authorities for their efforts to modernize road monitoring. In addition, he urged citizens to follow traffic laws to ensure public safety and reduce accidents.
Officials said the new system will help identify repeat offenders and reduce manual ticketing. Therefore, it will create greater transparency and accountability in traffic enforcement.

Smart Traffic System for a Safer Karachi

Authorities plan to expand the system across major roads and intersections. The initiative aligns with Sindh’s goal to make Karachi a smarter, safer, and more efficient city.
The Chief Minister emphasized that technology-driven governance improves citizens’ daily lives. As a result, the e-challan system marks a major step toward digital policing in Pakistan’s largest city.
