Five More Arrested in Paris Louvre Heist Investigation
Five more suspects have been arrested in connection with the Louvre Museum heist, according to Paris’ public prosecutor Laure Beccuau. The arrests took place on Wednesday night during coordinated raids in the Paris region.
New Arrests in the Louvre Heist Case
One of the suspects is believed to be part of the four-man team caught on CCTV during the daring robbery. Two of the other men involved had already been detained earlier and admitted partial involvement in the crime. However, the fourth suspect remains at large.
Investigations and Evidence
Authorities are still determining the roles of the newly arrested suspects. Beccuau told French radio station RTL that they might eventually reveal more about how the heist unfolded.
The suspects were arrested in Paris and nearby suburbs, including Seine-Saint-Denis. Investigators seized phones and other devices during the raids. These items are helping them analyze encrypted messages linked to the theft.
As a result, investigators believe they are getting closer to uncovering the full scope of the operation. The detained suspects can be held for up to four days before being charged or released.
The Louvre heist, one of the boldest thefts in recent memory, continues to captivate France as new details emerge.
