The United Arab Emirates has delivered a large humanitarian convoy to Gaza, consisting of 23 trucks carrying medical and food aid, in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO). The initiative, announced on Thursday, underscores the UAE’s continued efforts to support the Palestinian people amid worsening humanitarian conditions.
Of the total convoy, 16 trucks were loaded with medical supplies donated by the UAE to the WHO. These resources are intended to strengthen Gaza’s health sector, which has been under immense strain due to ongoing conflict. Hospitals across the enclave are struggling with shortages of medicines, essential equipment, and overstretched staff as they cope with rising numbers of casualties.
The other seven trucks were dedicated to food supplies, aimed at addressing urgent nutritional needs among families displaced by violence and communities facing acute food insecurity. With limited access to safe water and essential goods, humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned of a growing hunger crisis in Gaza.
UAE authorities stressed that the convoy reflects the country’s humanitarian commitment and its strong collaboration with international agencies. The aid forms part of a broader relief operation coordinated with global partners to alleviate suffering in Gaza.
While the delivery has been welcomed by aid groups, calls remain for consistent and unhindered humanitarian access to ensure relief reaches all those in need. The UAE reaffirmed its readiness to continue providing medical, nutritional, and logistical support to Gaza through joint efforts with the WHO and other partners.
