Government Rejects Airport-Style Scanning for Trains
Although quick action was promised, Alexander clarified that airport-style scanning technology is not considered suitable for UK stations. “Such systems are not viewed as fitting our rail network,” she explained. “Solutions that maintain both security and practicality must be found.”
Close cooperation between rail operators and police is expected to be pursued to develop stronger safety strategies. Increased monitoring, improved staff training, and quicker response times are being emphasized as key areas.
Passengers have been urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. The review is being regarded as an important step to restore public confidence following the attack.
