Abbottabad Finalizes Preparations for Measles-Rubella Campaign 2025
Preparations are in full swing for the Measles-Rubella Campaign 2025 in Abbottabad. A District Steering Committee meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram, reviewed all arrangements for the drive scheduled from November 17 to 29, 2025. The goal is to ensure every child in the district receives timely vaccination and protection against preventable diseases.
Vaccination Teams and Coverage Plans
During the briefing, the District Health Officer shared that 52 fixed teams, 153 outreach teams, and 4 mobile teams will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These teams will provide vaccination services across the district. In areas without EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) centers, temporary vaccination points will be set up to ensure no child misses the opportunity. This step aims to reach remote and underserved communities effectively.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of collaboration between departments. He directed all relevant officials to work together to guarantee smooth coordination throughout the campaign. According to him, teamwork and timely execution are essential to make the campaign a success.
Public Awareness and Departmental Coordination
Authorities also plan to run a comprehensive awareness campaign. It will educate parents and caregivers about the importance of vaccination against measles and rubella. Posters, community meetings, and media messages will spread the word to every corner of Abbottabad.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that no child should be left behind. Therefore, he urged officials to monitor daily progress and promptly resolve any issues. The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Additional Assistant Commissioners, District Health Officer, Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital, Health Coordinators, Assistant Director Local Government, and other concerned officers. Their joint efforts reflect the district’s commitment to protecting children’s health and creating a safer, disease-free future.
