Aces of Thunder Sets February 2026 Flight Date

Gaijin Entertainment officially sets a launch date for Aces of Thunder, its new high-fidelity VR flight combat sim, for February 3, 2026. The game arrives on PlayStation 5 with PS VR2 support and on PC via Steam with VR headset compatibility. It promises full cockpit-view immersion and supports HOTAS controls, but players can also enjoy it without a VR headset.

Historic Aircraft and Authentic Theaters

The game features a meticulously curated lineup of 44 legendary aircraft from both World War I and World War II. Pilots can take control of iconic machines like the P-51 Mustang, the German Bf 109, and the British Spitfire. Furthermore, they can experience rare Great War fighters such as the Fokker Dr.I, famously flown by the Red Baron.
Aces of Thunder delivers combat across 15 beautifully rendered maps representing key historic theaters. These locations include the Western, Eastern, and Pacific Fronts of WWII, as well as signature WWI frontlines. Consequently, every mission offers visual spectacle and authentic tactical challenges rooted in real-world aerial combat history.

Immersive Combat and Realistic Simulation

Players can test their skills in thrilling single-player missions or fight online against the best virtual pilots in global multiplayer. The game utilizes advanced flight and damage models derived from Gaijin’s popular title, War Thunder. This foundation ensures a high standard of physical accuracy and realism for every dogfight.
Between intense sorties, players can even walk around a detailed hangar to inspect their aircraft up close. “The game was made specifically with the capabilities of latest-generation virtual reality helmets in mind,” said the developer. Therefore, it represents a dedicated effort to achieve unparalleled cockpit presence and immersion.

Platforms and Core Experience

This dedicated sim aims to be the new benchmark for VR flight combat. It focuses exclusively on the cockpit view to maximize player immersion, whether they use a VR headset or a traditional screen. The inclusion of full HOTAS support caters directly to simulation enthusiasts seeking the most authentic control scheme.
With its historic plane roster, realistic physics, and focus on immersive VR, Aces of Thunder is positioned as a major new entry for simulation fans. It launches on February 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.
