Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Muzammil Murtaza Reach ATP Challenger Cup Final

Pakistan’s doubles team, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Muzammil Murtaza, made history by reaching the ATP Challenger Cup final. The duo achieved this milestone on Friday at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad.

Historic Victory in the Semi-Finals

Qureshi and Murtaza won their semi-final match with ease, defeating Turkey’s Alp Horoz and Mert Alkaya 6-1, 6-4. This marks the first time a Pakistani doubles pair has reached the final of an ATP Challenger Tour event. It is a significant achievement for Pakistani tennis.
Aisam’s Final ATP Challenger Match
This final will be the last ATP Challenger match of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi’s illustrious career. His partnership with Murtaza has brought great pride to Pakistan, and they are now set to face the Czech-Kazakh duo of Dominik Palan and Denis Yevseyev.
The Czech-Kazakh pair advanced to the final after defeating Ukraine’s Nikita Bilozertsev and Preston Brown from the United States 6-1, 7-5.

Alkaya’s Shocking Upset

In a surprising turn of events, Mert Alkaya of Turkey defeated top-seeded Elias Ymer of Sweden in a thrilling match. Alkaya, ranked 473rd in the world, won 7-6(10/8), 4-6, 6-0. The match lasted two hours and five minutes.
In other singles matches, second seed Jay Clarke of Britain triumphed over Ukraine’s Vadym Ursu 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(8/6). Meanwhile, Denis Yevseyev defeated Johan Nikles of Switzerland 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, and Zach Stephens from Britain beat Dominik Palan 7-5, 6-3.
