ARC Raiders, Minecraft Vets Reveal Co-Op RPG Wyldheart
Wayfinder Studios announces Wyldheart, a new co-op RPG from veterans of ARC Raiders, Minecraft, and Battlefield. Wyldheart co-op RPG casts you as a peasant thrown in jail who must find an ancient relic to protect your town. You can play alone or with up to three friends in seamless co-op. The graphics resemble early Elder Scrolls games or the Fable series with semi-cartoonish style. Local villagers have their own lives, stories, and schedules to discover. Quests reveal themselves through eavesdropping, deciphering rumors, and exploring ruins. Gathering materials, crafting items, and cooking meals for your party become essential activities. The game embraces the “RP” in RPG by letting you settle into your character’s role.
Combat and Character Options
Nineteen different backgrounds let you begin your story with unique starting points. Flexible skill trees cover magic, adventuring, and survival with new talents and abilities. Melee and ranged weapons include axes, swords, bows, and magical spells. Combat offers multiple approaches for different playstyles and group compositions.
Seamless drop-in and drop-out co-op keeps the party moving even when friends are offline. Cloud-shared saves and group XP ensure nobody gets left behind. The game is designed for busy gamers with campaigns lasting about 10 hours. Fifteen hours of optional content add depth for those wanting more exploration.
Development and Release
The game is currently in alpha stages with an Early Access release planned later this year. Players can wishlist Wyldheart on Steam to stay updated on development news. The team brings deep experience from major franchises known for sandbox gameplay. Wyldheart understands the social aspect of RPGs as the hook that keeps players invested.
Towns and NPCs matter as much as robust combat systems in this design philosophy. Wayfinder Studios emphasizes meaningful role-playing over pure action mechanics. The fairy tale-esque fantasy world invites exploration and character-driven storytelling. Co-op fans should keep this promising RPG on their radar.
