Nasa’s Artemis II mission has ended in success. Four astronauts swept around the far side of the Moon. They then landed safely back home.

Does this mean children will live on the Moon one day? Perhaps they will even go to Mars. The Artemis programme promises exactly that.However, looping the Moon was relatively easy. That may sound churlish, but it is true. The really hard part lies ahead. Therefore, the honest answer is “maybe, maybe not”.The future of deep space travel remains uncertain.
