Asim Munir Says Technology Is Transforming Pakistan Armed Forces
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing a major transformation. He highlighted that technology is reshaping modern warfare across multiple domains. As a result, the military is adapting rapidly to future challenges.
He said the character of war has changed significantly due to technological advancements. These changes demand a strong mental shift at every level of command. Therefore, future battles will rely more on technological manoeuvres than physical ones.
The army chief stressed that technology will redefine both offensive and defensive operations. He added that innovation and indigenisation remain key priorities. In addition, adaptation will continue to guide military planning.
Focus on Multi-Domain Warfare
Field Marshal Munir shared these views during his visit to Bahawalpur Garrison. He received briefings on operational, training, and administrative matters. The focus
remained on readiness for multi-domain warfare.
He also witnessed the high-intensity field exercise “Steadfast Resolve” at Khairpur Tamewali. The exercise demonstrated the use of drones, advanced surveillance systems, and electronic warfare tools. As a result, it reflected the armed forces’ shift toward technology-driven operations.
Addressing the troops, the army chief praised their morale and professionalism. He acknowledged their operational preparedness and commitment. However, he emphasized the need to maintain constant readiness.
Commitment to Education and Innovation
Earlier, Field Marshal Munir inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub. The initiative aims to promote digital skills, especially for students from southern Punjab. Therefore, it supports national goals for technological growth.
He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus. He reaffirmed the army’s commitment to education and character building.
Upon arrival, the Bahawalpur Corps Commander received the COAS and CDF. He laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha to honor the martyrs.
Later, he visited the EME Regional Workshop. Officials briefed him on maintenance systems supporting modern platforms. These efforts focus on indigenisation and advanced combat support.
