Balochistan Launches Health Insurance Policy for Government Employees March 7

Balochistan is set to launch a major health insurance initiative. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a key meeting on Wednesday. Officials reviewed the proposed health insurance policy for all government employees.
The meeting also assessed rehabilitation measures for two major hospitals. These are Civil Hospital Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH). Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and

Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan attended.

The CM received a detailed briefing on policy implementation. He then addressed the officials directly. He called the insurance policy a great gift from the provincial government.

Key Benefits and Launch Date

The policy will officially launch on March 7, 2026. The CM directed that all necessary steps be finalized urgently. Every government employee will receive significant treatment coverage.
“Under the policy, every employee will be provided treatment facilities up to Rs 1 million,” he stated. This coverage applies in the best hospitals across the country. It is a substantial benefit for the entire workforce.
The policy covers all employees from grades one to 15 and above. The CM emphasized that these workers are very close to the government’s heart. Those engaged in daily affairs and working on the roads will receive priority access.

Hospital Revival and System Benefits

The CM ordered expedited work on two key hospitals. The revival of Civil Hospital Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex is a priority. Both facilities will undergo significant rehabilitation.
This dual approach combines new insurance coverage with infrastructure improvement. The policy will provide timely treatment facilities for employees. Furthermore, it will reduce the overall pressure on the public health system.
The CM praised the Health Department and Finance Department. He acknowledged their hard work in formulating this comprehensive policy. Their collaboration produced a practical and impactful solution.
This initiative represents a significant investment in employee welfare. It also strengthens Balochistan’s broader healthcare infrastructure for all citizens.
