Bel’s Fanfare Kickstarter Success Funds Magical Cruise Ship RPG

Bel’s Fanfare Kickstarter Success Funds Magical Cruise Ship RPG

Spanish indie studio Chibig secures over one million dollars in Kickstarter funding for its Zelda-inspired adventure game. Bel’s Fanfare RPG follows a young demon named Bel who cleans supernatural “aura” aboard a magical cruise ship. The vessel called the Witch of the Sea has fallen into decay and now harbors mysterious energy. Players explore interconnected rooms, uncover hidden secrets, and help eccentric passengers with supernatural problems. The ship serves as a self-contained world filled with narrative encounters and atmosphere. Combat blends expressive arena battles with projectile-dodging mechanics reminiscent of bullet-hell games. Bel’s primary tool is the Ukobach gong-shield for blocking, absorbing aura, and solving puzzles. Narrative choices influence how characters’ stories unfold throughout the adventure.

A Unique Take on Classic Adventure Design

The game draws inspiration from Nintendo 64-era adventures while carving its own identity. Rather than a sprawling overworld, the ship creates a tightly crafted experience. Stylized low-poly visuals evoke classic 3D titles with a dreamlike tone. Character designs feature exaggerated proportions and whimsical fantasy elements throughout.
Boss encounters take players into the spiritual worlds of key passengers. This concept creates creative arenas tied directly to character narratives. Players eliminate the source of aura affecting each passenger uniquely. The approach blends combat with emotional storytelling in memorable ways.

Studio Background and Release Plans

Chibig previously created the cozy adventure Mika and the Witch’s Mountain. That game earned a strong reputation for warm tone and polished design. The Kickstarter campaign reached its funding goal extremely quickly. Tens of thousands of backers contributed to the overwhelming support.
The game is planned for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. A tentative launch window is set for 2027. Collector rewards include physical editions and figurines for dedicated fans. The overwhelming Kickstarter support suggests many players are already counting down.
