Brilliant Anisimova gains revenge on Swiatek

Amanda Anisimova produced a scintillating performance to defeat world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, avenging her past defeats and signaling a strong return to form. In a high-stakes encounter filled with intensity and precision, the American showcased her trademark power and fearless shot-making to earn one of the most memorable victories of her career.

Swiatek, who has dominated the WTA Tour in recent seasons with her consistency and all-court brilliance, was expected to extend her winning record against Anisimova. But the 23-year-old American had other plans. From the first serve, Anisimova played with aggressive intent, taking control of rallies and refusing to let Swiatek settle into her rhythm.

The match, played in front of a packed crowd, saw Anisimova storm through the opening set with clean winners and sharp returns. Swiatek responded in the second, briefly regaining momentum, but Anisimova held her nerve in the decider, breaking Swiatek late in the final set to close out the match.

This win is particularly sweet for Anisimova, who had previously struggled against the Polish star, including a painful loss at a Grand Slam. Her victory not only levels their head-to-head record but also sends a clear message: she’s back and ready to compete with the very best.

For Swiatek, the loss is a rare setback, but she remains a formidable force. As for Anisimova, this triumph may well be the spark she needs to reignite her career and climb back up the WTA rankings.
