Cartel Violence Erupts Across Mexico After Leader “El Mencho” Dies in Custody

Mexico is facing a wave of cartel violence. Members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) have attacked across 20 states. They torched businesses and set up burning blockades.This violence comes as revenge for their leader’s death. Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” died in custody on Sunday. He was Mexico’s most wanted man.

The Capture and Death

Mexican special forces captured El Mencho after a firefight. His bodyguards clashed with military commandos during the operation. El Mencho suffered serious injuries in the gun battle.He died while military forces transported him. They were moving him from Tapalpa to Mexico City. Therefore, his death sparked immediate retaliation from his cartel.

Widespread Chaos

As a result, this Jalisco cartel violence Mexico now threatens public safety. The CJNG is one of the country’s most powerful criminal organizations. Their revenge attacks span two dozen states.
Authorities now scramble to restore order. Businesses burn and highways remain blocked. The nation braces for more violence in the coming days.
