China Dismisses Reports on Pakistan-US Mineral Trade

China rejected reports alleging Pakistan sent mineral samples to the United States. Officials described the news as “false” and “misleading.”
During a press briefing, spokesperson Lin Jian responded to a Global Times journalist’s question. The reporter asked if Pakistan used Chinese technology to ship mineral materials to Washington. Lin said such reports were fabricated and aimed at creating distrust between Beijing and Islamabad.
He added that both nations share deep trust and long-standing cooperation. They maintain open communication on regional and global issues. According to Lin, Pakistan assured Beijing that its partnership with Washington will not affect mutual interests.

Clarifies Sample Details

Lin explained that the materials shown to US officials were gem ores bought within Pakistan. He said they had no link to Chinese technology or machinery.
He emphasized that recent export regulations on advanced materials have no connection with Pakistan. These measures, he noted, aim to ensure trade transparency and regional stability.
Beijing recently tightened rules covering mineral extraction and diamond-related technologies. The new policy will take effect on November 8, two days before the current trade truce with the United States expires.
As a result, analysts expect closer oversight of international supply chains. Lin stated that these actions align with responsible trade standards and security goals. He said Beijing continues to promote stable and fair cooperation with friendly nations.
The spokesperson reaffirmed that China supports global economic balance. He also highlighted the importance of partnerships based on mutual respect and long-term growth.
