Researchers observed that kitchens had higher endotoxin levels than bedrooms. This is because kitchens have more food sources for cockroaches. As a result, allergens and toxins accumulate faster. The team also noted that using pest control significantly reduced both allergens and endotoxins. Homes that were not treated continued to have high levels for over six months.
