Cotton Market Stays Steady as Trading Holds Firm
The local cotton market showed stability on Saturday. Prices stayed firm, and trading remained active.
Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman shared that new cotton rates in Sindh ranged between Rs 14,800 and Rs 15,550 per maund. In Punjab, prices moved between Rs 14,800 and Rs 15,400 per maund.
Regional Price Update
In Punjab, Phutti traded between Rs 7,900 and Rs 8,900 per 40 kg. In Sindh, it stood between Rs 6,700 and Rs 7,800 per 40 kg. Meanwhile, Balochistan’s cotton rates stayed between Rs 15,300 and Rs 16,000 per maund. Phutti there was available between Rs 7,700 and Rs 8,900 per 40 kg.
In addition, Balochi cotton sold between Rs 15,700 and Rs 16,000 per maund. Phutti prices ranged from Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,500 per 40 kg. The premium Primark cotton fetched Rs 16,700 to Rs 17,000 per maund.
Trading Activity
Several transactions took place across key cotton
producing areas. Around 400 bales from Sanghar sold at Rs 15,000 per maund. Fort Abbas recorded 1,000 bales traded between Rs 15,200 and Rs 15,250 per maund.
Moreover, 200 bales from Hasil Pur sold at Rs 15,225 per maund. In Mian Wali, 4,000 bales were traded at Rs 15,200 per maund. Haroonabad saw 400 bales sold between Rs 15,000 and Rs 15,100 per maund, while 1,200 bales from Layyah were traded between Rs 14,800 and Rs 15,000 per maund.
Market Overview
The Spot Rate stayed unchanged at Rs 15,000 per maund, showing price consistency. Polyester Fiber remained available at Rs 325 per kg.
Overall, the cotton market maintained a balanced tone. Traders expressed optimism as stable demand supported fair trading levels. Therefore, the outlook for the coming week appears steady and positive.
