Couple Wins Legal Battle Over Tiny Grass Strip Claimed by Neighbour’s Gnome

Couple Wins Legal Battle Over Tiny Grass Strip Claimed by Neighbour’s Gnome

A couple has won a legal battle over a tiny grass strip. Elizabeth Dobson and Andrew Pleming fought for their beloved patch. The land measures just 2.4 metres by 0.9 metres.
They spent years tending this strip on Pointers Hill in Westcott, Surrey. They mowed it, raked it, and planted herbs and wildflowers. A London tribunal heard all about their dedication.

The Gnome Incident

Alison and Darren Unsted moved in next door in 2022. They decided the land actually belonged to them. Therefore, they removed the couple’s plants without permission.
They replaced the flowers with a garden gnome. This bold claim sparked a neighbourhood dispute. As a result, this garden gnome land dispute went to court.

Victory in Court

The tribunal ruled in favour of the original gardeners. The couple can now reclaim their cherished patch. Their years of care established ownership rights. The gnome has been removed. Flowers will likely return soon. Justice prevails in this quirky British dispute.
