Soaring bitcoin prices are transforming the luxury travel sector, with private jet and ultra-premium cruise operators now accepting cryptocurrency. FXAIR, part of Flexjet, reports “tremendous” demand from wealthy young crypto entrepreneurs. “We save them time . . . And time is the most precious luxury,” said Flexjet chair Kenn Ricci. A transatlantic trip with FXAIR can cost $80,000, often paid in bitcoin.
Virgin Voyages now sells its $120,000 annual cruise pass in crypto, and SeaDream Yacht Club started accepting bitcoin shortly after President Trump—who’s vowed to make the U.S. a “crypto capital”—began his second term. Other luxury brands like The Kessler Collection and The Pavilions Hotels accept various tokens, including ethereum and dogecoin.
