Deadzone: Rogue Unleashes Free Apophis Expansion

Deadzone: Rogue unleashes its free Apophis Expansion today, adding eight new missions, a weapon forging system, and the powerful Radiation combat element. Prophecy Games also announced a 30% discount for the base game on Steam starting December 18th, giving new players a perfect entry point into the enhanced action-roguelite.

New Expansion Content and Features

The Apophis expansion introduces a hostile asteroid base as a new biome, complete with fresh enemies and bosses. A central new feature is the weapon forging system, which lets players upgrade weapons in safe rooms with Blessed Traits for unique effects. Consequently, this system deepens both run-specific strategy and long-term character power progression.
Furthermore, the update adds the Radiation element as a new damage type, featuring abilities like Gamma Ray lasers. The expansion also delivers key quality-of-life updates, such as multiple save files and a co-op stat screen, while the move to Unreal Engine 5.6 improves overall performance.

Coinciding Sale and Optional DLC

Alongside the free expansion, Deadzone: Rogue will be 30% off on Steam from December 18th to January 5th. This sale covers the base game, the Operative Pack, and the Original Soundtrack, creating an ideal recruitment window for new players.
For operatives seeking style, the new MARK II Pack DLC launches with a 20% discount. This optional pack includes a full suit skin set, weapon cosmetics, and playful upgrades like a Fortune Teller for in-run advice.
