Divine Light Art Exhibition Shines at Koel Gallery

A new Divine Light Art exhibition opened at Karachi’s Koel Gallery on Tuesday. The show welcomes visitors into a space filled with calm energy and creative expression. It also highlights Quranic verses that explore the beauty and power of divine light.
Curator Alfiya Abbas Ali gathered artworks from 17 artists from around the world. Each artist presents a unique view of spiritual illumination. In addition, the exhibition encourages people to reflect on the meaning of guidance and hope.
The collection includes paintings, calligraphy, sacred geometry, textiles, and installations. These pieces create a gentle rhythm throughout the gallery. As a result, visitors move naturally from one experience to another.

Exploring Light Upon Light

The show centers on the concept of Noorun-ala-Noor, which means Light upon Light. This idea comes from Ayat al-Nur (Surah Al-Nur, 24:35). Therefore, many artists focus on the journey from darkness into light.
Several works draw inspiration from the verse “Allah is the Protector of believers; He brings them out of darkness into light.” For example, artists use soft colors and glowing shapes to suggest comfort and clarity. In addition, geometric forms guide viewers toward feelings of balance and peace.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah attended the opening. Dawat-e-Hadiyah’s Kamal Younus and the Radiant Arts team welcomed him. He toured 19 display corners and praised the exhibition for blending creativity with spiritual depth.

Women-Led Vision

Radiant Arts, also known as Anwar al-Funun, organized the event. This women-led, non-profit platform belongs to the Dawoodi Bohra community. It promotes Islamic and cultural heritage through inclusive art programs.
The exhibition invites people from all backgrounds to explore divine light. It also encourages thoughtful conversations about faith, creativity, and shared values.
