Einride’s Autonomous Electric Truck Makes History in Belgium

Swedish tech company Einride has made history in Belgium. The company successfully operated a fully autonomous heavy-duty electric truck on a public road. This trial took place at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges under Belgian regulations.
The truck is a Level 4 autonomous vehicle. That means it can drive without human input in certain conditions. Einride’s goal is to make freight transport cleaner and more efficient.

Smarter, Greener Freight Transport

The truck carries a powerful 320 kWh battery. It can travel up to 650 kilometers on a single charge. Energy-efficient motors, aerodynamic design, and advanced self-driving software support this long range.
This combination reduces emissions compared to diesel trucks. In addition, it lowers fuel costs and helps logistics companies shift to sustainable transport.

A Step Toward the Future

The demonstration in Belgium is more than a test drive. It shows how autonomous electric trucks can change freight transport in Europe. For example, they could reduce traffic pollution and improve safety on busy roads.
Einride is not just testing a vehicle—it is shaping the future of logistics. As a result, Europe could become a global leader in autonomous freight technology.
This milestone marks the beginning of a new era. With innovation like this, the road to smarter and greener transport is already here.
