EverRail Unveiled as a Frostbound Survival Crafting Odyssey

EverRail Unveiled as a Frostbound Survival Crafting Odyssey

Aesir Interactive has announced EverRail, a new original IP and the studio’s first foray into game publishing. Developed by Icebird Studios, this open-world survival crafting game is set in a frozen wasteland where perpetual movement on a player-built train is the key to survival. The game is scheduled to enter Early Access in 2026.

Unique “Tricore” Gameplay and Setting

EverRail introduces a “Tricore” gameplay loop split between managing a massive battery-powered train, embarking on roguelike on-foot expeditions, and scouting from a glider. The core premise is that stopping means death; players must continuously expand and upgrade their train to keep its battery charged while exploring an infinite, procedurally generated winter world.
Players will scavenge resources from ruins, battle the elements and enemies, and uncover mysteries while using their train as a mobile base, workshop, and fortress. The game will support both solitary journeys and online cooperative multiplayer, where the death of the last passenger ends the run for all.

Aesir’s Publishing Debut and Development

This announcement marks a strategic expansion for Aesir Interactive, known for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers and the upcoming The Legend of Khiimori. By partnering with Icebird Studios, a part of the Aesir Interactive Group, the company is leveraging its decade of development experience to publish its own passion project.
The game is financially supported by FFF Bayern. A wishlist campaign is now live on Steam and the Epic Games Store, building anticipation for its Early Access launch next year.
