Fakhar Zaman Suspension: PSL Star Banned for Ball Tampering Drama

The Fakhar Zaman suspension has sparked debate across the cricket world. The PCB banned the Lahore Qalandars batter for two PSL matches. This decision followed a ball-tampering incident during a tense clash with Karachi Kings.

Fakhar Zaman Suspension Shakes PSL

The moment happened in the final over on Sunday. Karachi needed 14 runs to win. Fakhar, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf briefly discussed the ball. During this, Fakhar and Rauf passed it between them. However, umpires quickly stepped in. They inspected the ball and spoke to each other. As a result, they gave Karachi five penalty runs and changed the ball.

Match Impact and PCB Decision

The penalty changed the game’s outcome. Karachi chased 129 with three balls left. Abbas Afridi sealed the win with a four and a six. Meanwhile, the PCB charged Fakhar the next day. He denied the claim and challenged it in a formal hearing. Match referee Roshan Mahanama reviewed all the evidence carefully. In addition, team officials attended the hearing. Shaheen Afridi and management members were present. After reviewing everything, the referee confirmed a level 3 offence. Therefore, Fakhar received a two-match ban. This penalty falls within PCB rules for first-time offences. The board stated that such breaches carry strict consequences. Fans and analysts continue to discuss the ruling. Some support the decision, while others question it. Regardless, the Fakhar Zaman suspension has become a major talking point in this PSL season.
