Federal and KP Governments Align to Boost Healthcare in Remote Districts
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday. Their discussion focused on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s healthcare challenges. Special attention was given to the province’s remote and merged districts.
A Call for Federal Support in Remote Areas
Governor Kundi emphasized the need for strong federal support. He stressed launching modern medical projects in underdeveloped areas immediately. This ensures quality treatment reaches marginalized communities close to their homes.
Federal Minister Kamal assured full cooperation from the central government. He stated health sector reforms are progressing at a fast pace nationwide. A comprehensive strategy is being implemented to reduce hospital burdens.
Digital Health and Telemedicine as Core Solutions
A key part of the strategy is strengthening digital primary care. The new telemedicine system has already launched to expand medical access. This innovative approach helps reduce patient overload at major city hospitals significantly.
Governor Kundi reiterated that coordinated efforts remain absolutely essential. He urged priority for KP under the National Health Support Program specifically. People still travel long distances to Peshawar due to local facility shortages.
The high-level meeting concluded with a shared commitment to action. Both leaders agreed to align resources and strategies for better health outcomes. Building a more resilient provincial healthcare system is the unified goal.
