Federal Minister Inaugurates New Facilitation Centre at Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto Hospital
Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has praised ongoing health sector reforms in Punjab. He spoke at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a new facilitation center at Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto Hospital. He described the reforms as a milestone for quality medical treatment.
The minister credited Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s visionary leadership. He said her efforts ensure equal, timely, and transparent healthcare services. These benefits now reach both urban and rural populations.
Around 4,000 citizens will directly benefit from the new facilitation center. It will streamline patient guidance, registration, and other administrative processes. This reduces waiting times and confusion for patients and families.
Digital Transformation Across Punjab Hospitals
An automated system is being introduced in hospitals across the province. Patient registration, medical reports, and emergency services are shifting to digital platforms. This enables patients to receive treatment without unnecessary delays or influence.
The digital push removes human bottlenecks from critical processes. It ensures that care is based on medical need, not connections or paperwork. Transparency is built into the system from the ground up.
Abbasi specifically appreciated upgrades to Rawalpindi’s hospitals. Holy Family Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital have received modern facilities. These measures improve standards of care and create new opportunities for medical research and training.
A Comprehensive Reform Agenda
Multiple projects are already underway or completed across Punjab. These include hospital upgradation, new health centers, and ward expansions. Modern medical equipment is being provided to facilities throughout the province.
The minister outlined a clear timeline for further reforms. Within the next six months, additional transparent and organized changes will be finalized. The goal is to ensure timely treatment for every patient.
He emphasized that development of research and training continues alongside infrastructure. Modern infrastructure alone is not enough. Building human capacity is equally essential.
“The mission of serving humanity will continue,” Abbasi stated firmly. He promised that the government would utilize all available resources. High-quality healthcare facilities remain a top priority.
A Public-Private Partnership
The new facilitation center is a collaborative effort. The Dr Aslam & Alia Foundation has partnered in establishing the facility. Sons of the late Dr Aslam were present at the ceremony, representing the foundation’s commitment.
Vice Chancellor Rawalpindi Medical University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar, also attended. Medical Superintendents from Holy Family and Benazir Bhutto hospitals were present. Health department officials rounded out the distinguished gathering.
This partnership model brings private philanthropy into public healthcare. It demonstrates shared commitment to serving the community. The result is better facilities for thousands of citizens.
