FIA Peshawar Foils Citizenship Fraud, Arrests Afghan National and Accomplices
The FIA Peshawar citizenship fraud case has revealed a major attempt to illegally obtain Pakistani citizenship. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone arrested an Afghan national and three accomplices for using forged documents.
Fraudulent Citizenship Bid Exposed
According to FIA officials, the arrested suspects were identified as Sadiqullah, an Afghan national, along with Samiullah, Fayyaz Khan, and Younis Khan. The group tried to obtain Pakistani citizenship through fake paperwork and false identities.
FIA spokesperson said Younis Khan posed as the Afghan’s father during the verification process at NADRA. Meanwhile, Fayyaz Khan and Samiullah acted as witnesses and certifiers, providing fake attestations to back the fraudulent claim. Their coordinated attempt aimed to manipulate official records and bypass legal requirements.
Crackdown on Document Forgery
FIA confirmed that the arrests were made during an ongoing operation against fake documentation and illegal citizenship attempts. The agency emphasized that such crimes threaten national security and undermine the integrity of official systems.
Officials added that further investigations are in progress to trace any supporting network behind the forgery. Legal proceedings have been launched against all four suspects under relevant laws.
The FIA reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency in the citizenship process and ensuring strict action against those who misuse Pakistan’s documentation system.
