Fourleaf Fields Farming Sim Revealed on Steam
Developer BEHEMUTT and publisher HypeTrain Digital announce Fourleaf Fields, a cozy farming life sim with a miniature scale. Fourleaf Fields farming sim puts players in a world where you’re no bigger than a carrot. The pixel art draws clear inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Cute designs and exaggerated proportions decorate the world throughout. Floppy boots and drooping clover appear rendered in a similar cartoon style. The game features detailed farming mechanics, NPC relationships, and co-op play. A Gossip System turns chatting with NPCs into something more pointed. Digging up juicy details unlocks branches in a skill tree. This gives whole new meaning to the concept of the grapevine.
Stardew Valley Meets Minish Cap Aesthetic
Good farming sims are common, but this one stands out visually. The choice of scale offers opportunities for creative genre twists. Rather than raising cattle, you’ll take care of ladybugs instead. Harvesting carrots feels like gathering megaflora at this tiny scale.
The Borrowers-style miniaturization sparks the imagination in unique ways. GBA-style pixel art with higher resolution creates a perfect pairing. The Minish Cap might be the best pixel art of all time. Fourleaf Fields immediately captures that same magical quality and charm.
Developer History and Future Plans
BEHEMUTT has bounced between genres in previous game releases. Mana Spark delivered a souls-like rogue-like experience for players. Nova Lands pivoted to a Factorio-inspired game with different mechanics. Hopefully that expertise will transfer to the farming sim genre.
No release window has been announced for Fourleaf Fields yet. The Steam page has an option to request playtest access currently. A playtest will provide better idea of the final product quality. Until then, this mash-up remains a game worth watching closely.
