General Mirza Stresses Unity to Tackle Evolving Security Challenges

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza delivered a powerful farewell address on Wednesday. He spoke openly about Pakistan’s evolving security challenges and the need for unity. He explained that global shifts now influence both internal and external situations.
He noted that the world is moving faster than ever. In addition, these rapid changes demand clear thinking from the country’s security institutions. Therefore, he urged everyone to stay focused, confident and prepared for new realities.

Global Shifts and Growing Pressures

General Mirza said that changing global dynamics now shape every region. However, he believes Pakistan can respond effectively with a joint approach. He pointed out that threats now include hybrid tactics, misinformation and full-scale conflicts.
He highlighted that modern warfare creates pressure on decision-making. For example, information attacks spread quickly and require instant responses. As a result, he encouraged the armed forces to sharpen coordination at every level.
He also reminded the audience that teamwork strengthens national resilience. In addition, he urged officers to share insights and work closely across departments.

Preparing a Stronger Path Forward

General Mirza explained that developing a capable military system is an essential requirement. He said the country must keep improving its structures to stay ready for future challenges. In addition, he emphasised integrated planning as a key part of future success.
He thanked the teams at Joint Staff Headquarters for their dedication. As a result, he encouraged them to continue serving with integrity and courage. He also expressed full confidence in their ability to grow with changing demands.
General Mirza ended his address with warm wishes for the entire military community. He invited everyone to move forward with unity, commitment and hope. His message highlighted responsibility, teamwork and a strong vision for the future.
