Genshin Impact Anime Debuts New Teaser After Four Years

Studio Ufotable releases a fresh look at the long-awaited Genshin Impact anime adaptation this week. Genshin Impact anime teaser showcases protagonist siblings Aether and Lumine in a short promotional video. The project was first announced back in 2022 with little information released since then. Ufotable’s official YouTube channel shared the teaser alongside other upcoming anime projects. These include Witch on the Holy Night and Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 among others. The new character designs differ noticeably from the 2022 concept trailer shown earlier. This gives fans a first genuine glimpse at the anime’s visual direction and style. The teaser confirms the adaptation remains in active development despite the long silence.

What the New Teaser Reveals

The short teaser features Aether and Lumine reaching out to each other against a black backdrop. It provides a clear look at the updated character designs for the adaptation overall. However, the video offers no indication of when the anime might actually release anywhere.
The project appears under “Future Projects” rather than “2026 Projects” in promotional material. Consequently, fans should not expect the anime to arrive this year at all. A 2027 release or later seems far more likely at this point unfortunately. The four-year wait has tested fan patience considerably over time. Still, confirmation of progress provides some relief to the dedicated community.

Why the Delay Might Benefit the Adaptation

The extended timeline could actually work in the anime’s favor moving forward. The Genshin Impact game story may reach its final stages by late 2026 potentially. With Snezhnaya’s release approaching, the narrative clearly has its endgame in mind now. Having a complete story would help Ufotable restructure the plot for television audiences.
The game’s story unfolds through Archon Quests, World Quests, and hidden lore throughout. A complete picture would make adaptation decisions much easier for the studio. Genshin Impact’s massive popularity means this anime could rival Demon Slayer eventually. Therefore, Ufotable taking its time makes perfect sense for the project’s success. The studio clearly wants the adaptation to be as perfect as possible for fans worldwide.
