Gulf Air Offers 40% Discount on Prepaid Extra Baggage for January Travel

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has introduced a new incentive for January travelers. The airline is offering a substantial 40% discount on prepaid extra baggage for all bookings made during the month of January 2026. The initiative is designed to support passengers, especially families, as travel demand rises during the school holiday period.
To take advantage of the offer, passengers must purchase the additional baggage allowance through Gulf Air’s official channels. This includes the airline’s website, call center, or ticket offices. A key condition is that the extra baggage must be secured at least 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure.

Added Value for Direct Bookings and Standard Allowances

Passengers who book their flights directly on gulfair.com receive an extra perk: a complimentary additional 5kg baggage allowance on top of their existing limit. This provides even greater value and incentive for using the airline’s direct sales platform.
The promotion applies across all cabins, which have their own standard baggage allowances. Economy Class passengers can check 25kg, 30kg, or 35kg, depending on their fare. Business Class travelers are entitled to 45kg or 55kg.

A Strategy for Smoother Peak-Season Travel

Christopher Binnion, Gulf Air’s Senior Manager of Revenue Management, stated the offer reflects the airline’s commitment to passenger value and convenience. “By encouraging passengers to plan ahead and use our direct channels, we are able to deliver a seamless experience while supporting families with added flexibility and substantial savings,” Binnion said.
The strategy aims to reduce airport check-in congestion and streamline the travel process during a busy period. It gives travelers more control over their baggage costs and helps the airline manage capacity more efficiently.
