Holy Cross Health Elevates Cardiothoracic Surgery with Top Surgical Appointments
Holy Cross Health is marking its 70th anniversary with a major advancement in specialized care. The hospital has elevated its cardiothoracic surgery program by appointing two internationally recognized surgeons to top leadership roles. This move aims to provide the highest level of surgical care to the community.
The new appointments bring decades of combined experience and leadership to the program. Dr. Kushagra Katariya has been named Medical Director and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Marc Gibber will serve as the Surgical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, focusing on critical post-operative care.
Meet the Surgical Leaders
Dr. Kushagra Katariya, M.D., FACS, joins Holy Cross Health with an impressive international background. Most recently, he practiced with Tenet Healthcare’s Palm Beach Health Network. A significant milestone in his career was returning to his home country of India. There, he started and led a hospital group that performed a very high volume of cardiac surgeries.
Dr. Marc Gibber, M.D., brings extensive local leadership experience to the team. He was previously the Medical Director and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital in Palm Beach County. Dr. Gibber states that the field of cardiothoracic surgery spoke to him during his training because it profoundly touches so many lives.
A Vision for Elevated Care
The pairing of these two surgeons creates a powerful leadership team. Dr. Gibber has expressed his enthusiasm about working alongside Dr. Katariya. Together, their goal is to elevate Holy Cross Health’s cardiothoracic surgery program to new heights of excellence, patient outcomes, and innovation.
This strategic enhancement reflects Holy Cross Health’s long-term commitment to its community. By investing in top-tier surgical talent and specialized intensive care leadership, the hospital ensures that patients have access to world-class heart and chest surgery close to home.
