HoYoverse Reveals Petit Planet, a New Cozy Cosmic Life Sim

The studio behind Genshin Impact, HoYoverse has unveiled Petit Planet, a cozy cosmic life-simulation that lets players design their own tiny world. The game blends life-sim staples with whimsical space motifs, allowing users to customize environments, adjust sky palettes, and shape beaches, forests, and grass. Petit Planet centers on calm, creative play and social connectivity between neighboring miniature worlds.
Players engage in activities such as planting crops, fishing, crafting, mining resources, and cooking. These mechanics tie into a progression loop that rewards decorating, base expansion, and relationships. A shared hub called the Galactic Bazaar enables players to trade goods, join mini-games, and meet visitors, while seasonal events add new challenges and rewards. HoYoverse will also offer cooperative features so friends can visit each other’s planets and collaborate on large projects.
Customization is a core focus. Petit Planet provides options for character appearance, outfits, and home decor, plus tools to construct houses out of repurposed materials and tiny furniture. Mobility systems include gliders, slingshots, and playful traversal methods that make oversized objects feel like grand landmarks in miniature scale. The studio promises intuitive building tools so creative players can express themselves without frustration.
HoYoverse describes the current testing phase as a “Coziness Test,” allowing selected players to try early systems and provide feedback. That loop will inform balancing, QoL improvements, and content pacing before a broader launch. Petit Planet’s visuals adopt a bright, inviting palette and an accessible UI that suits both casual and dedicated audiences.
By applying its live-service experience to a gentler genre, HoYoverse appears poised to sustain Petit Planet with regular updates and seasonal content. While a release date is not yet confirmed, the title targets PC and mobile platforms initially and aims to attract fans of cozy sims seeking a social, creative sandbox in a compact package.
