Imran Khan Visitation Rights Spark Debate Amid Security Concerns

Uzma Khanum met her brother today to clarify concerns about Imran Khan visitation rights. She said he was in good health and staying strong. However, she shared that he felt frustrated and claimed he faced mental pressure inside the prison.

Uzma’s Meeting and PTI Response

Uzma said she spent nearly 30 minutes with him. She also noted that he stayed inside his cell most of the day and had limited communication. As a result, PTI supporters gathered outside the jail to show solidarity.
PTI leaders continued their protests in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. They argued that the jail authorities denied fair access to the former prime minister. For example, they said his family and party members had been unable to meet him for weeks.

Section 144 and Security Measures

Officials enforced Section 144 in both cities to manage gatherings. They said intelligence reports warned of possible threats. In addition, they linked large crowds to
increased security risks.
State Minister Tallal Chaudhry reminded all groups to follow the law. He stressed that political leaders should avoid using state resources for protests. He also said the government wanted to stop terrorists from using VPNs and mobile apps to plan attacks.
Police added that they deployed more than 3,000 officers to maintain law and order. They set up pickets near Adiala jail and closed some roads leading to sensitive areas. Therefore, authorities asked the public to cooperate during this period.
PTI leaders announced that they would continue peaceful demonstrations. They said the issue of Imran Khan visitation rights remained a priority. Meanwhile, officials repeated that safety concerns guided their decisions and that compliance with Section 144 was necessary for public protection.
