India Beat Pakistan by 88 Runs at Women’s World Cup

India continued their impressive run at the ICC Women’s World Cup with a thrilling 88-run win over Pakistan. The victory marked Pakistan’s second straight loss and highlighted India’s all-round dominance once again.

India’s Strong Batting Display

Batting first, India scored 245 for 7 on a tricky surface. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led the charge with a composed 68 from 84 balls. Her partnership with Smriti Mandhana, who made a fluent 55, gave India a solid base.
In addition, Richa Ghosh played a fiery cameo of 37 runs from just 25 balls. Her quick hits pushed India past 240, giving the bowlers a strong total to defend.

Pakistan Falter Under Pressure

Chasing 246, Pakistan struggled to keep up with the required rate. Renuka Singh struck early, removing both openers and putting India in control. Therefore, the pressure mounted quickly on Pakistan’s middle order.
The spinners then tightened the grip. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav shared five wickets, while Pakistan crumbled for 157 in 42 overs. Only Nida Dar showed some fight with a brave 46.

India’s Confidence Soars

This victory extended India’s unbeaten record against Pakistan in World Cup history. As a result, their net run rate improved, boosting their semifinal chances.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised the team’s spirit. She said, “The girls showed great intent and focus today. We’re happy with our momentum.”
Pakistan, however, face an uphill battle after two losses. Meanwhile, India look confident and ready for tougher challenges ahead in the tournament.
