Iran FM Thanks Pakistan for Support During US-Israel Conflict
Abbas Araghchi on Monday thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their strong backing during the ongoing confrontation with the United States and Israel. He praised Islamabad’s solidarity and said the message of Iran Pakistan support holds deep importance for Tehran during this difficult time.
The Iranian foreign minister said his country will continue defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that Iran relies on faith in Allah Almighty while facing external pressure. In addition, he called for patience, unity, and perseverance as the conflict continues.
Conflict Escalates Across the Gulf Region
Tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel escalated on February 28, 2026. On that day, US and Israeli forces launched coordinated strikes on Iranian military facilities. Officials from Washington and Tel Aviv claimed the operation aimed to address threats to regional security.
However, the attacks quickly triggered a broader confrontation. Iran responded with drone and missile strikes against US assets and allied interests across the Gulf region. As a result, the conflict spread beyond the initial targets.
The war has also disrupted global trade routes. In particular, the strategic Strait of Hormuz has faced serious disruptions. This passage handles a large share of the world’s oil shipments. Therefore, the situation has raised concerns about global energy security.
Global markets reacted quickly to the rising tensions. Oil prices surged, with Brent crude climbing above $104 per barrel. Meanwhile, air travel across the Middle East faced major disruptions due to restrictions at major hubs in Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan Calls for Dialogue and Regional Stability
Pakistan has maintained a careful but supportive position during the crisis. Officials in Islamabad have called for restraint and diplomatic dialogue. At the same time, the government has avoided direct military involvement.
Leaders in Pakistan continue to highlight the historical, cultural, and economic ties with Iran. As a result, the country has offered moral and political backing to Tehran during the crisis.
In a post on the social media platform X, Araghchi thanked Pakistan in Urdu. He described the solidarity from Pakistan as sincere and meaningful for the Iranian people.
Pakistan has also urged regional powers to de-escalate tensions. Officials warn that prolonged conflict could disrupt trade and energy flows across the Gulf. Therefore, Islamabad continues to push for dialogue to restore stability in the region.
