JI Accuses Sindh Government of Milking Karachi’s Tax Revenue

JI Accuses Sindh Government of Milking Karachi’s Tax Revenue

Karachi residents are growing frustrated. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has accused the Sindh government of “milking” Karachi’s massive tax revenue. According to him, the provincial authorities take billions from the city but return little in essential services.

Karachi’s Contributions Ignored

Karachi contributes the most taxes in Pakistan. However, the city continues to struggle with poor infrastructure, water shortages, and waste problems. Roads remain damaged, and drainage systems barely work. Residents feel neglected despite paying their dues.
The JI leader said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government has failed to serve the people. He claimed that development funds are often misused or lost to corruption. As a result, Karachi’s progress has stalled. He urged the provincial leadership to prioritize real solutions instead of political point-scoring.

Call for Fair Governance

Rehman emphasized that Karachi deserves fair treatment. He said the Sindh government must reinvest a larger share of tax revenue into the city’s growth. In addition, he called for transparency and accountability in how public funds are spent.
The JI leader warned that citizens would continue raising their voices if problems remain unresolved. “Karachi powers the economy,” he said, “so it should not be left behind.” His remarks highlight the city’s ongoing struggle for fair governance and essential public services.
