K-IV Project Begins Water Pipeline Work on Karachi’s University Road

K-IV Project Begins Water Pipeline Work on Karachi’s University Road

Work on the K-IV Project Karachi has officially started on University Road. The project team began laying the new water pipeline from Aziz Bhatti Park to Urdu University. Officials said the work aims to meet Karachi’s growing water needs efficiently.

Efficient Planning and Construction

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah inspected the site and appreciated the progress. He said that laying the pipeline first will stop the need to dig up the road again. This approach will save both time and public funds.
After completing the first section between Aziz Bhatti Park and Urdu University, the road will reopen immediately. The next construction phase will then begin without delay. The Chief Minister said this pipeline will serve the city’s increasing water demand for years to come.
In addition, the new line will connect the upcoming water filtration plant in Bahria Town to the Gul Bai area. This connection will help supply clean water across Karachi.

Traffic and Public Convenience

Officials confirmed that traffic flow from Aziz Bhatti Park to Urdu University will slow down during construction. However, alternative routes are available to keep movement smooth. Authorities advised residents to plan their travel accordingly.
The government has promised to restore the affected road section quickly. It also aims to complete the project with minimal disruption. The K-IV Project marks another step toward solving Karachi’s water shortage issue and ensuring a reliable supply for future generations.
