Karachi Gas Blast Tragedy: 16 Dead in Soldier Bazaar Building Collapse

Karachi gas blast tragedy shocked residents early Thursday in Soldier Bazaar. A gas cylinder explosion caused a residential building to collapse. As a result, at least 16 people died and 13 others suffered injuries.

Rescue Efforts Continue in Soldier Bazaar

Rescue teams rushed quickly to Gul Rana Colony near Aga Khan School. Ambulances transported injured people to Civil Hospital Karachi for urgent care.Eyewitnesses described a powerful blast that shook nearby homes. Fear spread across the neighbourhood within minutes. Officials said the explosion happened around 4:15am during Sehri time. Investigators believe a gas leak triggered the blast on the first floor.
Rescuers pulled children and adults from the rubble. However, narrow streets and limited space slowed the operation. The building also appeared illegally constructed with small single-room units.In addition, the collapse damaged nearby structures and increased panic. Rescue 1122 confirmed teams continue searching debris to ensure no one remains trapped.
Doctors treated victims immediately after arrival at the hospital. Authorities confirmed that some injured people remain under close medical supervision.

Leaders Express Grief and Order Investigation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He offered heartfelt condolences to grieving families.He prayed for the departed souls and asked for their high ranks in Jannah. In addition, he wished a speedy recovery for those injured.The prime minister directed authorities to provide every possible medical facility. Therefore, hospitals remain on alert to support affected families.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also took immediate notice of the tragedy. He ordered officials to speed up rescue efforts and assist survivors.Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Sindh government stands with the community. He added that doctors continue providing the best care.
