Karachi University Students Protest After Point Bus Accident Claims Female Student’s Life

Students at Karachi University launched a protest on Friday after a tragic accident claimed the life of a female student. A campus point bus hit the student near the science faculty area, sparking grief and outrage across the university.

Tragic Accident Sparks Anger

Eyewitnesses said the bus lost control while taking a turn inside the campus. The accident immediately drew crowds of shocked students to the scene. Within minutes, they began chanting slogans and demanding justice for their fellow students.
Protesters blocked the main university road and called for strict action against those responsible. They accused the university administration of negligence, saying poorly maintained buses and untrained drivers put students’ lives at risk. “This tragedy happened because of carelessness,” one student said during the protest.

Students Demand Safety and Accountability

Students urged the administration to take urgent steps to ensure safe transport. They demanded regular bus inspections, properly trained drivers, and a medical response unit on campus. They also called for a transparent inquiry and accountability for anyone found guilty of mismanagement.
University officials expressed deep sorrow and promised to investigate the incident thoroughly. They assured students that the administration would review all transport procedures to prevent similar accidents.
Authorities deployed police to maintain order as the protest continued. The demonstration remained peaceful, but emotions ran high throughout the day.
The tragedy reignited national discussion about student safety and transport standards in educational institutions across Pakistan. Many students vowed to continue their campaign until the university guarantees safer travel for all.
