KMC Adds Jahangir Road and Natha Khan Bridge to City Plan After Mayor’s Orders
The KMC development plan now includes much-needed improvements to Jahangir Road and the Natha Khan Bridge. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation moved quickly after Mayor Murtaza Wahab issued special instructions. As a result, the city finally sees real action on two long-standing concerns that affect thousands of daily commuters. KMC also shared the update through its official channels, including a recent social media post.
Progress on Jahangir Road
KMC teams completed the required paperwork for the Jahangir Road stormwater drain. In addition, they began the tender process without delay. This step offers hope for smoother traffic and improved drainage, especially during heavy rains.
The reconstruction cost stands at Rs 29 crore 74 lakh 29 thousand 406. The project aims to reduce flooding and prevent road damage that has troubled residents for years. Therefore, once work begins, people should notice a clear improvement in road conditions.
KMC officials also highlighted the importance of consistent follow-up. They want the project to stay on track and deliver long-term benefits.
Update on Natha Khan Bridge
KMC also addressed the long-standing issues surrounding the Natha Khan Bridge. Officials resolved earlier delays and issued its tender. In addition, they expect work to begin soon, which brings relief to people who use the route daily.
The rehabilitation cost is Rs 77 crore 99 lakh 93 thousand. This investment shows the bridge’s importance for travel between key residential and commercial areas. For example, the route links commuters to the airport and several busy neighborhoods. As a result, the repair work should ease traffic and improve safety.
Residents now hope for steady progress. KMC expressed confidence and promised timely updates on both projects.
